My name is Manidoo Giizhigad(Holy Day), but you can call me Mani for short! I’m an Ojibwe from Minnesota. My elders raised me to know the importance of language and culture. When seeking to further my Ojibwe studies, I found resources out there to be far and in between.
Bit of a bummer! But that’s why I created Learning Ojibwe! I want to share my language out with other linguist enthusiasts. To help make the barrier for learning the Ojibwe free and easily available.
Here you’ll find resources, guides, tools, and more to help learn. I have an ongoing daily Ojibwe Word of the Day series, inspired by my father. Who sought to spread the Ojibwe language a little each day.
